Make that change!

“You better change or else!”; “They should change the way they do those things.”; “Why can’t they change for the better?”; “I like you, but I don’t like how you treat me.”; “She should do better than that!”; “Our government should change its ways.”

Well, its endless actually. People is so used to point out to other people when it comes to changing. From their point of view, they are better than others and those others should change. Very seldom will they admit that they themselves need some changing. No wonder the world stays where it is now, in fact, its getting worse.

Listen to Michael Jackson if you will:

I’m Starting With The Man In The Mirror
I’m Asking Him To Change His Ways
And No Message Could Have Been Any Clearer
If You Wanna Make The World A Better Place
Take A Look At Yourself, And Then Make A Change

Our Father also instructs us of these things, read on:

Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgment, in accordance with the faith God has distributed to each of you. – Romans 12:3

“Do not judge, or you too will be judged. For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.

“Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye? How can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when all the time there is a plank in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye. – Matthew 7:1-5

I guess these words say enough of what should be said.

Its up to us to read and act on it.

Oh, by the way, I also need a-changing.

Glory to Glory

“But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.”

– II Corinthians 3:18

I was sharing some views with a friend just this morning, we were talking about reaching goals set before us. Specifically, we talked about how to become a better Christian. How to become one in our present situation now.

As we shared our views, positive or otherwise, we learned that we can be better Christians, not instantly, nor overnight, but in a process, in a journey, taking one single step to start with, one step at a time, and as the verse said “from glory to glory”. And that we have to take each single step, not alone, but with the Lord.

But how do we know if we are taking the right step? How do we know if we are in the right direction? Now, I would like to leave those questions for you to find out the specifics.

As for our discussion, we ended with a prayer asking God to show us which way to go, which step to take and how to take them. We thanked Him for reminding us that indeed, we are never alone in this journey called life. That He is always with us no matter what.

No matter what situation we are in life now. No matter where in life we are now. No matter who we are.

No matter what.

Thank You Lord.
